Spiders of Scolt Head Island
Spiders are fairly well represented on Scolt Head and a number are restricted in there distribution. This is mainly due to the local and specialized Habitats, such as the Coastal Dune systems, and Saltmarshes, and the richness and variety of micro habitats within these, some recognised communities of which can only be found in Norfolk.
Some Nationaly and Locally Rare species occur on Scolt Head, one such example is the Yellow-striped Bear Spider Arctosa fulvolineata a specialist of a distinct niche area of Saltmarsh.
This gallery is constantly evolving as I now look more closely for Spiders.
